Our Story

Beautiful designs deserve to be beautifully made.

This concept is the foundation of Welden. It resulted from conversations that led us— boutique factory owners Cissy and Gary Chui and NYC handbag development expert Sandy Friesen—to create Welden.

We believe there is beauty in the way a product is made, in both the time-honored craftsmanship of handwoven leather and the modern production process. We created Welden to combine the two because we believe the best way to honor the past is to bring it into the future.

With decades of expertise among us, we select only the highest quality leathers and ensure that our accessories are crafted with the utmost attention to detail. Everything is made in-house, so we are extremely close to our product.

Each of our designs is created to highlight the personal touch of each artisan, which makes each handwoven style a true original.
